Can bad tool path be removed?

Hello,

I have encountered this problem a few times and would like to know if anyone has any tips on how to deal with it. Most of the toolpath shown below is good, with the obvious exception of the large loop away from the part. I have tried to remove the line from CL data but am unable to do so. Editing G code is time consuming and insecure. What is the best way to handle this? This sequence is lcoal mill by previus tool in window, but I have also had this happen with trajectory. Thanks in advanceView attachment 4159

I don't use LOCAL MILL very often but this is the proceedure for editing the path in surface milling.

Customize, Redifine Follow Cut, and either split the tool path or just change the end point. If you split the path, once you exit redifine you will have multiple (depends on how many times you spit) follow cuts. Click once on the follow cut and it will highlight in blue, you can delete what you don't want. Just becareful on your connect moves after that.

BTW, the reason the loop is there is that the tool will most likely gouge your check surface if the tool does not move away from the intended path. Can you change your tool dia or position the part at a different angle?
