Hi there,

Is it possible to check the orientation of an object (part or assy) hanging from a nominated point to check whether or not the lifting lug is in the correct position.

This position might not nessesarily be through the centre of gravity.

hmm got a pic? i dont qiuite follow.

are u saying u have a part pinned? and want to see which way it would hang?

from physics (and my memory) u can draw a line vertically downwards,
from the point of pinning and the cog. this will give u your
orientation.

OR

if u have mechanism u can animate it.

set up ur assembly. (pin connection)

set up gravity in the correct direction.

set up friction (dampener)

analysis type dynamic

enable gravity and friction

and watch it run :) looks cool

u can also do it in static mode if u are only interested in the final result
