Here is my question. I know it is possible to have negative values for the BLF (Buckling Load Factor). What that tells me is that buckling can occur if the load is applied in the opposite direction. My question is, can this value change to a positive value if I increase my load applied to the unit or does this tell me that this will always hold true regardless of the amount of load that is applied? Below is a screenshot of the results from my Buckling Analysis.
The bulclking factor in a linear buckling (Pro/MECHANICA) is basically the roots solution of the characteristic eigen equation. If you increase the load the BLF will decrease but the sign will not change.
