Assembly Template

Is it possible to add components to an assembly template??

When I try to do this I get an error message saying it is not possible?

Any Ideas??

Joe

When I open my assembly templates Pro/E allows me to add components (in WF2). You can use ANY existing assembly as a template, Pro/E just makes a copy of it with your new file name. The template assembly does not have to be in your template directory, Pro/E just starts looking there first.

Hello

I want to have a "company standard" template that contains components.

If I try to create a new assembly and try to use an existing assembly as a template,

I get the following error message:

The selected assembly contains components and cannot be used as a template. Please select another assembly

I don't want to open an existing assembly and use a "save a copy" to get a new
assembly, this is awkward in a big company setting.

Thanks

Joe

You are correct, sorry about that. Pro/E lets me select any assembly as a template but then quits with the same error message you get.
