Assemblies to parts

now I've never done it but from my understanding there are a few ways..

the first is to copy all of the exterior surfaces (maybe through copy geometry or publish geometry) then put them into a new part, merge them together and solidify it..

the second again involves edit/merge.. again I've never used it but read about it.. probably in this forum... do a search you might find a better explaination..

sorry I couldn't be of more help..

why woudl u want to do that>?

you know u can add assemblies to other assemblies.

but what u can do is merge parts.

edit -> feature operations -> advanced -> merge... from memory

.

I want to take assemblies we get from vendors and convert them to parts. That way in the Bill of Materials I only display the parts nessessary.

Thanks,

Tom
