I have a model where the material used is aluminum tread plate. How can I get my surface to look like this? Does anybody have a tread plate surface I can apply?
If you have a picture file of it, like a .jpg, you can set up your own color.
In 2001, choose View > Model Setup > Color and Appearance, add a new color, and from the Detail tab, you can specify that picture file as either a Texture, Bump, or Decal. I think you probably want Texture. (There are minor differences between the three.)
Then from the Set Object Appearance portion of the Color and Appearances dialog box, you can apply your new color to the appropriate surfaces.
