3d connexion mice to control mechanism

Hi,




I currently use a 3d connexion mice to move
around in 3d space. I've notice that the mice can only affect movements
to the world coordinate system and around arbitrary points in space.
What I would like to do is control a assembly component with the 3d mice
and if that component is part of a mechanism, it would update the
mechanism joints in real time. This would be very similar to the
component drag tool but instead of using a standard mouse, you would be
using the 3d connexion mice to affect movement.






Is such thing possible?
