Hi all,

I wonder if someone could share ProE settings for importing CATIA_generated (both V4 and V5) IGES 3D files.

We've been always having problems bringing them in... in most cases all
we get is bunch of cylindrical surfaces (holes) and odd faces here and
there. We have t ouse third party software to re-&-re the
files...... Real PITA.

I appreciate any advice, thanks

The setting in Pro/E doesn't do much to the file. Your main thing to do is to clean up the CATIA file in catia first. ie.. hide/unhide some features. If you want, you can send me the CATIA file and i can help you clean it up a bit.

The problem is usually from the Catia end. I always had the same problem. The engineer created the whole model using surfacing tools or brought it in from Rhino or other conceptual design software. If it is a nice solid model created from catia you shouldn't have a problem.
