Var_sec sweep

prowd

New member
I am working through a great set of surfacing tutorials that I found at sharptechdesign.com (really excellant resource for beginners)but for the life of me cannot figure out how to generate the feature on the right using the variable section sweep tool. Creating the regular sweep shown on the left is well covered in the tutorial, but apart from sketching the new trajectory I am stuck!

Any help would be appreciated

Phil

hi,
i was just looking at the tutorial and it says you need to use the standard sweep tool so you can sketch a trajectory or just sketch a trajectory before entering vss and you sketch a trajectory that at each end curves and exits the side of the part and you use this trajectory instead of the one provided with the example.

hope that helps.

Checkmate,
I was confused with the orientation of the section, but becomes more apparent if you rotate view in sketcher.

Thanks for your help, really appreciate it
