urgent: how to project surface onto plane

I have a round surface like a cylinder... and i need it to blend onto a flat square plate (i.e. the round surface of the cylinder onto the flat plate) possibly with boundary blend or variable sweep (cant use the latter coz i dunno how to)..

maybe i could project the surface onto a plane as a sketch and then use boundary blend to blend it in... but i dunno how to project the round surface as a sketch..

any help...? need it urgently too please....

Sketch circle using 4 arc segments,
end pts at 45, 135, etc. degrees.
Sketch rectangle on offset plane.
Boundary blend.

Search forum for square to round
or rectangle to round transition.

hmmm.. i want the round surface of the cylinder to be projected onto the square section not the flat top part... that means the round surface cant be put on a plane coz its 3D... its a curved surface... the plane its on would be curved... i hope you understand what I am trying to portray...

as you can see... the bottom surface is not on a plane but i need it to blend onto the upper surface which has a rectangle cross-section..

Well, I hope the sense of urgency has passed.

A pic is worth a thousand words. A model's worth a million and
a lot quicker. A few thousand words may not be enough to adequately
describe the problem and provide an answer. What version Pro/E is
being used? Is this a class project, a learning exercise, ...?

Putting "project the surface onto a plane as a sketch and then use
boundary blend" in context; I guess you want to create a set of
curves on the face of the lower body to use for a Boundry Blend.
Creating a suitably positioned datum plane, a sketch and projecting
the sketch onto the lower body face would be one way of going about it.

Moving on to "as you can see... the bottom surface is not on a plane
but i need it to blend onto the upper surface which has a rectangle
cross-section.."; it sounds like all you need to do is Boundry Blend
between upper body edges and lower body edges.

If you'll hunt thru

you can probably find some freebies.
