I'll start this off by saying that I am totally new to
Pro Engineer, being a Freshman in an engineering program.
I have some (limited) experience with Autodesk Inventor,
and luckily, some of that knowledge has converted well to
working with Pro E. However, there is one element of
Inventor that I miss, however I'm pretty sure it's
something I've just missed.
When creating a new sketch on a surface that has already
been extruded, Autodesk gave you the ability to add
existing geometry from the 3-d figure to your current
sketch. This included mostly object lines and center-
points of circles, but was still really helpful for
aligning things.
I'm wondering where, if anywhere, this feature is in Pro
Engineer, or what an alternative would be, that preforms
a similar function.
I guess I should also mention that my school uses Pro
Engineer with Wildfire, version 4.0.
Thanks,
Josh
