thickness automatically in drawing symbol

wildfirebrigade

New member
I would like to see the thickness of my sheetmetal part automatically, when I place a drawing symbol in the corresponding drawing. I have tried to create a symbol with the following: "

"thickness: &SMT_THICKNESS"

However I dont understand why this doesnt work, when I manually place this text, it does work properly.
The second question following this is, how do I get the decimals of the resulting number (thickness) to be zero? (currently it has 3 digits).

thanx a lot!

<div menubottom="0" menuright="0" menutop="0" menuleft="0" activeid="-1" expanded="0" style="display: none;" id="divCleekiAttrib"></div>

&SMT_THICKNESS[.0]

The [.0] behind the parameter will show the number of decimal places.
ex
[.0] = no decimals
[.5] = 5 decimal places

Make your symbol with variable text.

thickness: \variable_text\

Then in the variable text field put the parameter &SMT_THICKNESS

Then Pro/E will automatically populate the symbol.
