Surfacing for F1 Car Project Help

Hi Guys,

Looking for some insight on how to create a body shell for
a toy f1 car Im doing for a project.Iv just modeled a full
technic f1 car, everything works great but I need to do
some complex surfacing so im looking to create a body shell
to cover it purely for aesthetics and showing surfacing
ability. Cant get a pic small enough to upload. Anyone any
experience on where to start?

First, you should have basic blueprints - how to "mount" them in Pro/E describes this movie(not mine, regards to ggtech.com.pl)

second you lay dwon basic curve network. how - this is up to you:

*by Intersection of 2D sketches
*by ordinary Curve through points tool
*by ISDX

then you make surfaces and join them in one quilt

What you should evaluate from start is to indicate following:

*level of detail(accuracy of geometry) - only tangent or curvature transitions
*areas consisted of simple 4 sided surfaces, ordinary shapes possible to be dane as Revolve, Extrude, simple Sweep and so forth
* areas with 3 sided surfaces
*areas with 5 sided surfaces
*areas with complicated fillets
*areas with complicated surfaces transition
*and so forth

some stuff related to above one can find at my web site http://proe-warsztat.pl/en/tuts/tuts.php

good luck
