SolidWorks to ProE hidden line Crash

I have a 15 Mb file imported from Solidworks as a ProE file into WF3. The assembly behaves fine as long as I keep the display shaded. If i switch to hidden line it will crash within a few minutes. Fasthlr=yes helped in assembly mode, but drawings still crash. The assembly includes several chains with a hundred or so links. Could this cause the problem? Maybe an accuracy issue? Any help?
