For myintership I work with Pro/ENGINEER, Pro/MECHANICA (structure)and use it for the development of engine parts.

I have a question about the use of thesolid element sets there are available in Pro/MECHANICA (AutoGEM).

For so far I knowthe choisesare as follow (correct me if i am wrong)

-Tetra is the general setting for solid elements

- Tetra, wedge is used for sheet metal part (thin part)

- But what is the use of the element setTetra, wedge, brick?

(foregive me if my Englisch isn't the best, becauce I'm from the Netherlands.)

Thanks in advange.

If you are using integrated Mechanica then don't worry about the element types as the default are the the best as fas as I know from my experience.

In independent Mechanica you should study the documentation provided with the software.

I'am using mostly independent Mechanica, and in the documentation I can not find it so far. So I was hoping some one here could tell me more about it.

The calculations so far I have done with tetra, but I am just interested what the meaning is of the other sets.

thanks in advandge, cje4ever
