Scroll plate

Can anyone help me in creating a scroll plate. Like the ones found on 3 jaw chucks.


I've tried helical sweep, but I cant have a profile that is normal to the revolution axis.


I tried cheeting by putting the profile close to normal, but the limit is 89 degrees.(see image)


I'm a very new user... you probably guessed that by now.
