Rotational blend, tangency issues...

Guys,

Having some trouble getting the tangency conditions right on this sample corner.

Take a look at this corner, and tell me why the left (larger radius) corner is bulging out, even though all tangencies are set? The smaller radiaus corner is perfect, the larger one is goofy.

I'm sure I'm overlooking something obvious.

Or must this type of feature be created with a different geometry type?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

James,

It looks great. Nice to see the whole creation method too!

Unfortunately, I'm on WF3 here though (corporate mandate). I can't open it. But your demo was top notch.

I was considering surfacing out the whole thing too, but it just _seems_ like it should be doable as a solid.

Anybody with WF3 wanna take a crack at it before I go into a surfacing frenzy?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi drvogler,

Here's how I did it without surfacing:

Solid Extrude - Symmetric about the Front Datum Plane:

Sketch a curve on the Front Datum:

Insert > Sweep > Cut - Use the curve created in the previous step as the trajectory:
