Restricting parameters

I created a restricted value file that works as desired on all parts when I have to create the parameters that are restricted.

The issue is when I go into a part where these parameters already exist. If the parameter already exists in a part, the parameter stays as a manually entered value and not a drop down. I would have thought that this parameter would be recognized as part of the restricted value file and become restricted.

Is there a way to change existing parameters to restricted parameters?

The only way is to delete the parameter, close the dialog box, then create the parameter.

In the menus of the parameters dialog there is a pick to "Update parameter restrictions".
Be sure to check the box in the sub dialog that appears.
