ProE to PowerMill with levels?

Hi,

we have had great success in importing ProE or IGES files into Powermill / PowerShape, but it's a very manual process.

When we get it into Powershape, we have to renameeach part and place ech part on a layer. however, when we import files from Rhino or Alias this is already done for us? anybody know why this is? or a better way to import a ProE asm into any of Delcam's products?

Thanks,

James

Not sure if this will work as I don't have Delcam but its worth investigation.

1: In ProE Assembly create layers and place each component on a layer.

2: Export using Iges and set the File Structure to all levels

I tried this by importing back into Proe and the models came in using layers.
