PDMLink 9.1 & WF4 "Save a Copy"

In left panel you can select "Working Directory", then you can select other directory too in the path field on the top part of the window "Save a Copy"

Are you trying to save to a different location in PDMLink or do you want to save a copy to your hard drive?

  1. If you want to save a copy to a different location in PDMLink you need to save it to your workspace. When you Upload your copy to the server you can specify the location in PDMLink.
You can preset locations in Edit Preferences which is the pull-down menu that says Pick an Action.
  2. If you want to save the copy to your hard drive you need to save it to your workspace first then use Tools - Export from Workspace.
Hope this helps.

I assume you are doing this is WF. When you do a 'save as' it only lets you save to your current workspace. That hasn't't changed from WF4, 3, 2 or 1. You have a couple options. You can do the 'save as' in WF, then in PDMLink, export to your harddrive, or export to another workspace. Or in WF, you do a 'file' - 'back up'. This will allow you to save directly to your harddrive, though it keep s the same name, so you would have to do a rename afterwards.
Good luck.

I am still using iLink3.4, how do you like 9.1?
