Pdm - Objects disappeared.

Hello friends,

We am using creo 1.0, windchill 9.0 .

Actually my friend is working on some small changes in the assembly which is already checked-in in pdm.

He works by creating some parts and assembly locally(new part which is not checked-in).

After some days, it disappears from workspace & we cant able to take it back.

Any thoughts about how and why it disappears.

side effect of working localy on Workspace is saving all the changes on the hard drive of your computer untill upload is done. Upload transfers all your data to the server part of Workspace, however simultaneusly it soes prevent them to be checked out/downloaded by others. this would be possible after check in.

I expect your friend did not make an Upload, only simple Save.

Theoreticaly it is not possible for user to find where PDMLink saves data localy on the hard drive. Practice proofs it is possible. please find the directory PDMlink on your computer is targeting to, and search through it. Unfortunately, the data are not saved under Pro/E files extension. They do not even reflect proper names. However you can check what the file is by simple opening them in Text editor.
