Part turns red in assembly

When I bring a part into an assembly, it suddenly becomes red after the constraints are defined. What does this mean?

While you are in the assembly constraint toolor once you have come out of it?

After coming out of it. I tried applying a different color, and then clearing it, and it goes back to the part's original color. Not sure why.

I assume you are using WF4. My modelsturn yellow but I believe this is just to indicate that you have fully constrained a component.

If you open up that model in its own window what color is it?


The color will carry forward from the part model.

It did not have a color assigned to it, so it has the default gray color when opened in a window by itself.

The other possibility is you have the color assigned to the assembly. If you open the part it will have the color assigned at the part level.
