I know this is off-topic but here it goes, Can anyone recomend a site simmilar to mcadcentral that deals with Maya? I'm going to be teaching myself and could use someplace to ask questions.

Why don't you try downloading a copy of Maya from the Autodesk website? There in the download, you'll find a detailed structured tutorial which is the best way to get on with Maya.
