offset cross section redefine

I am trying to redefine an offsetcross section in wf4 part, but when I select redefine section some of the features dissapear. I understand that these features might have been created after the section, but I thought that didn't matter. What has happened to cause this? How do I find out what features where referenced to locate the section sketch plane?

try editing the sketch and going back into the reference selection, it should still contain the refrences previously used.

References is greyed out. My only options are Atributes, Direction, Section and Scheme.
