We use it the other way around, name=ptc_common_name so that the parameter name always reflects ptc_common_name. This was necessary due to that ptc_common_name doesn't show up in family tables anymore. On the other hand ptc_common_name is not so nice to have in a family table anyway.
To do it in drawings it is a little bit more complicated. You would have to add the codein Pro/Program (which exists in the drawing). Again, I never tried it. But heard it would work.
