moving element by the parameter

Hi,

I have a question to more experienced Creo users.
I have a manhole with a header pipe, like on attached drawing. The header pipe lies on a plane which can be moved up and down. If i type 100 or -100 by edit option of the plane it can go wherever I want.
The problem starts when i want to make a parameter out of it. If i make a real number parameter, I can not type -100 and because of that i can move this header pipe only in one direction.

Is there any solution to this problem?

Thanks,
Robert

I would create a datum plane at the lowest point the header will go. Then assemble the header to a datum plane that is offset from this "lowest" point. Now your numbers will go from 0 to 200.
