Meshing and solving in Mechanica

I imported a part into ProEngineer in STL format so it came in tesselated (as faceted parts). Is it possible to analyze the part in this format? I can't seem to mesh the part in Mechanica.

Thanks, Matt

I actually did shrinkwrap the part and save it as a part to analyze. When I mesh it though it doesn't like to mesh very well. It gives the error message "AutoGEM may not be able to complete because the volume boundaries either intersect or overlap near the highlighted surfaces." I'm guessing this is because it is a faceted solid and has many sharp angles and defects on the part. I tried changing the angles under settings but it didn't help. Any ideas as to how I could get this shrinkwrapped part to mesh?
