Is an Involute Curve Valid for a Blower?

I am looking to design a centrifugal blower for air. The blower blade will be molded out of plastic so my blades must be vertical. I'm looking to shape the blade curvature as that of an involute curve. Does anyone know if an involute curve is a valid curvature for a blower? Thanks.

P.S. Not really a CAD question but where else do you look for engineers?

Do a search on 'postive displacement blower' in Google. Involute shape is used for the lobes of the impellers. I used to work in a factory where they made these blowers, but I don't know the equation for the profile.

If you are going to use and involute, you can define a curve by equasion and use the equasion from the spline standard.
