Internal Pipe Surface

Im not too sure this is the right forum to post this in, but i need to export only the internal surface of a small length of pipe. Does anyone know if this is possible in ProE? We want to run some CFD on a piping system and the CFD guys only want the interior walls of the pipe. I have tried exporting a .step of only surfaces but that didnt work too well. Is it possible to manually select the surfaces and then save only selected items? Any suggestions? Thanks for the advice.

You could create a new part and use "copy geometry" to capture thesurf you want into it.


then export the new part

What you need to do is make a surface copy. Then export just the surfaces.

Thanks guys, I was able to achieve the desired result by doing the following:

1. create a new(empty) part within the assembly
2. Activate the new part
3. Insert > Shared Data > Copy Geometry
4. turn off publish, select surface, accept
