Importing dwg file fails eith layer error

I am trying to import autocad 2007 .dwg files as drawings into pro/e wildfire 4.0. Most of them open fine, but a few refuse to open at all with pro/e returning the error "Another autocad layer has different visibility status. Pro/e layer selection has been abandoned". Does anyone know how to resolve this? The files open fine in autocad and in the autodesk TruView viewer.
