Helical sweep thread blend?

Hi,

I created a part recently with a thread going around a
simple revolved cylinder i made. The thread is fine and
has the correct pitch and dimensions but as it was done
with a helical sweep it starts with a straight flat
vertically upright from the surface of the revolve.

However I want the thread to "blend" into the revolve as
if it were tapering down to a point on the surface. This
is for ease of use as the part is from a bottle lid so it
will be easier to start screwing if the thread is tapered
down to the surface.

I've tried surface modelling using the style tool with
curves on the surface etc but it doesn't look right. Does
anyone have any suggestions as to how it could be done?

Regards.

Just put a radius at the end of your trajectory at the end of the parallel bit to simulate the threading tool pulling away from the job. It really is as simple as that. No need for complicated surfaces.

Hi kenppy! im akshay here, i wish i want to learn about thread through helical cut & wanted to add mechanism to it. is posible? if, please guide the path...

I'm using pro-e Wildfire 5.0

Thnks in advance.
