Yes there is a way but it's a "strange" one for my taste but anyway:
you have to create 2 parameters in all parts that are in your assembly default_xhatch_angleand default_xhatch_spacing, make them real numbers and give them values 45 degrees and 5 or whatever spacing.
Then when you create a xhatchin assembly anditwill be 45 degrees and 5 spacing.
I don't like this because hatching should be different from one part to another (can be confusing if all is 45 degrees and same spacing). And if you have materials assigned to parts then PRO-E will search for the apropiate xhatch (steel, copper, aluminum...) but if you have these 2 parameters created then they supersede the material.
But you can overide this in drawing with spacing and angle and retrieve hatch.
