Export ACIS / IGES

Hi guys,

I'm
new to SW, and I was wondering what would be the best file type to
export out of SW if I wish to run analysis on a model in another FE
package.

I've been told that the other package works through an
ACIS interpreter, but I've also been told that it would be easier to do
it through IGES.

What do you guys recommend?

Also, I've been having some problems with exporting IGES files.

Basically, my model looks like this:

I've got a pre-existing model (lets call it feature A) of a solid that has pretty odd surface curvature going on.

I've drawn a sketch on top of a section of the surface, and surface-filled it (though it doesn't completely fills properly)

I've copied that fill, translated it, and used those 2 profiles to loft a solid.

I've also cut some holes in that solid.

Now, when I attempt to export it out, I get the error message:

IGES-out complete. 3 face(s) failed to translate.

And
when I re-open the IGES file in SW, I see that the surface has not been
translated at all. Instead of having a solid, it looks like a shell.

I tried the above again, but chose not to export the feature A, and the loft I made looks fine now.

I really have no clue what's going on and I need help BADLYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys!</div>
