Drawing Slows down!

Using SolidWorks 2008, the program runs fine on my Dell 380 with 2 GB of ram. In the 3D rendering, everything is fine. However, when I bring up the drawings. Everything begins to slow down! I found that it becomes faster when i lift my mouse off the table. Does anyone know what is going on??
