DELL M6300 file save/ assy backup

I just bought a Dell M6300 laptop, 8Gb Ram, NVIDIA FX 3600M Card.


Running WF4. When I save a small part file it takes 4-5 seconds to save, and when I try and backup an assy it takes 6 minutes vs <5 seconds on my desktop! I am saving to the ard drive, not a network issue. Assembly has 200 parts - not complex.


Any ideas?

Make sure the Transfer Mode of your Primary IDE Channel is set to "DMA if available" and NOT "PIO only". Additionally I would check Dell's website for update chipset drivers. I have the M6300 as well and there were many updates to be downloaded. Hope this helps
