Counting holes

Hi there,
I want to now if there is a way of count the number of
holes in a part and put it in a parameter?

Hi,


This may work for you


1) Create hole wiith hole tool


2)Create a restricted parameter Called "bolt Name" this gives us a drop down menu for our bolt sizes if you have not used restricted parameters you will have to investgate how to before you proceed


3) Edit hole parameter add The "bolt name" you created


4) when model is complete use search tool with following LOOK FOR>feature/ LOOK BY>feature/ RULE>expression/ CRITERIA/ TYPE>string/ SYMBOL>bolt_name/ COMPARISON>is equal to/ VALUE>"your bolt name here"


this will giive total found


5) then create bulk item with parameter and qty found you may have to investigate bulk items to learn there creation


we use this to propogate the information into our Bom it may be more
