You can set the material of the part to be CHROMIUM-PLATING, but in the animation you have to choose Photorender Frames. Otherwise the Chromium effect could not be applied in simple notrendered animation.
Photorender framed animation takes much more time to be calculated, because every frame have to be rendered, put only then you'll be able to see realistic appearence of the materials
