Hello,

I need to draw a piping system of a chiller base on a floor plan in autocad.
Can i use the AutoCad file as a x-reference in ProE?

Thank you all of you!!!

H.P.

YES AND NO...

You can import the drawing as a sketch on a plane (say top Plane) in proe and develop your piping taking the reference of the sketch.

When you change AutoCAD drawing, the sketch in Pro/E will not update (Hence NO for x-ref).

Another way to import AutoCAD drawing in Pro/E:
Open AutoCAD drawing
Now Save the drawing as AutoCAD2000 dxf.
Then, In Pro/E click Insert/Shared data/from file...
Find your .dxf , select it and click open.
Pro/E will align UCS from AutoCAD drawing with CS in part.
