Assembly Mass Properties

When I try to calculate the mass of an assembly, the result is in units of LBF SEC^2 / IN. The separate parts all have no problem with mass calculations; they all come out in lbs. I'm looking for a mass in lbs.

You need to set the units of the assembly to be the same as the parts (Inch lbm Second which is the default).

Thanks! Apparently this template I was using didn't use the default settings, but all of the other parts had.

set it to lbf when you use Pro/Mechanica.

Which leads me to another question: What are your thoughts on using Pro/Mechanica to study valve operation? I have barely touched Mechanica, and I'm looking for a way to analyze some parts before making prototypes. I'm designing a pressure/vacuum vent valve, and would like to have a way of running fluid flow analyses (checking cracking pressures, etc.) before paying for prototypes.
