3D Line Creation

I'm using Pro/Engineer Wildfire 4.0 and I'm trying to figure out how to create a line or curve that goes in 3 Dimensions; similar to the line used in this video to create a bar.

I've also tried using multiple curves to do a swept blend like that, but I can't seem to get it to work.

It's a little hard to tell but it looks like a point set was created and then a datum curve was created thru the points.

Intersect curves/surfaces, Datum curve through points, ISDX curve tool.

about the swept blend, do you have the same number of enteties in your predefined sketches?
