WF2 Prismatic machining ( Finally )

Okay... So we have FINALLY upgraded to WF2 after being stuck on 2001 for.. well forever !!...

Before the software arrives, im just interested to know what the differences are between the old Pro/NC and the Prismatic milling option !! Is this module similar to the old NC or am i going to get a massive shock when i try to create toolpaths ?? I have only ever used Pro/NC.

If there is a massive difference, how difficult is it to learn ??

TIA

Taz,

There is really no effective difference between 2001 and Wildfire 2.0 in the manufacturing modules - only the names have changed.

Prismatic Milling is Expert Machinist in 2001; Complete Machining is Pro/NC.

If you are going from Pro/NC on 2001 and do not own Complete Machining, you arein for the same shock as you would have had going to Expert Machinist.

Of course, there are substantial differences but they are mostly related to how Wildfire 1.0/2.0 core is different than 2001. Selection methods are more (though not entirely) Windows-centric, spin/pan/zoom is different, etc.

Thanks peter...

I have used WF2 SE on my Uni course, so i am familiar with most of the selection changes etc...

So lets hope the change isnt too traumatic... Saying that, i did fall off my chair when the boss give me the purchase rekky for WF.. LOL.. Ive been nagging to upgrade for yrs..

i am agreed with Peter's saying that there is no effective difference between 2001 and Wildfire 2.0

only the interface is same, but Wildfire has lot more capabilities which 2001 doesn't have, like many new manufacturing stratgies are added, strategies are improved to have more functionality.
