WF M190 xtop.exe crashes with Windows 2000 SP4, but not SP3

We have several users with Wildfire date code M190. The PCs with Windows 2000 service pack 4 are crashing several times a day. The PCs with service pack 3 are fine.

Windows terminates xtop.exe and the std.err says RAISING SIGNAL : Signal number : 11.

The IT guys say going back to SP 3 is not an option.

We have been running WF 2.0 F000 on Win 2000 SP 4 without problems.

BTW WF2 F000 has lots of bugs which have been fixed in M040.

So if you are on maintenance updrade to M040.

I just got the M040 CD this week, maybe I'll install it this weekend if it rains. I looked at the bug list and there are about as many new ones in 040 as it fixes! Oh well, hopefully some progress is being made.

You are right that M040 has a list of bugs too but its strange that ptc is releasing WF 3.0 preproduction soon as peterbrown77 ( a member of this forum) told me. Shouldn't they concentrate on WF 2.0 first then release preproduction WF 3.0.
