I recieved a Pro/E part from an outside source and I cannot get it to open.

I get this error message "The file C:\Work\j13344.prt.1 is not a valid PART file."

Anyone got a solution or answer for me.

I am using Wildfire 3.0.

I have added the file for your experimentation</DIV></DIV>

Thanks for the quick responses, everyone.

The first thing I told the supplier was that we were on Wildfire 3 and would need compatable files. GRRRR!!!!! Doesn't listen well does he.

Well, I'm off to tell a supplier what an idiot he is and we won't be using his services if he can't listen to his customers any better than this!

There is no way to save a Pro/E drawing in a previous version so if he already had it in WF4 the only solution is to save as an IGES or DXF file. If he created it just for you then he really is a dumba$$.

UPDATE:

As suggested by some, I tried downloading/setting up the GRANITE Cross Release Interoperability (GCRI) software from the PTC website.

What I got for my troubles was when I tried to open Pro/E I get a Pro/Exit.

Thanks PTC!

I have a call in to the PTC helpline, but I'm not holding out for much.
