Text Alignment Problem on Dimensions

Whyis the text on mydimensions above the dimension line? I looked under Tools/Options/Document Properties/Dimensions/Text Alignment and the horizontal is checked center and the vertical is checked middle. Nothing works for this. This problem is only on my D-size drawing, not the B-size. Thanks

Sounds like the Drawing's Document Properties > Detailing is set to ISO dimensioning Standard.
Switching to ANSI standard should solve the display problem.

You can also use the "Custom Text Position" group box
option number 3 for Broken Leader, Aligned Text.
or for Vertical dimensions option 2 Broken Leader, Horizontal Text

In 2008 this is shown in the Leaders Tab in the Property Manager
Or can be found in Dimension Properties in 2007.
