STP files....Solidifying Problem

Hey Guys,

I have a couple of stp files that I cant seem to convert into solids. The first is a scan of a helmet which varying radii and the second is a plate with various radious in different directions. I've tried to you the geometry healer and "zip gaps" but for both parts it says design intent is unclear. I tried to cheat and use shrinkwrap on the helmet and it does create a solid but the geometry becomes very choppy and loses its smooth appearance, even after increasing the quality over and over. Do you guys have any suggestions/tricks I can try? Ive done muliple searches in the forum but have had no luck.

Thanks in Advance...

Marv,

For the uploaded BRACKET part:

1) Click on the Import Feature

2) Right Mouse Button and Edit Definition

3) Go to Edit menu and Feature Properties

4) Check the Make Solid and Join Surfs and then OK

5) Finalise by clicking on the green check mark

It's Done (solid)

I don't know about the helmet, but sometimes you have to manually zip the gaps andedit boundaries by moving vertexes etc, and then try to solidify the gometry.

Hope that helps!
