spring assembly

I created a spring drawing but I am not sure how springs a placed in an assembly drawing were the spring would be compressed.

you can create a family table for the spring with instances for both ocmpressed and uncompressed form... then you can easily switch between both in your assembly... to place the spring, you need to create datums upfront; i.e, datum planes and axis which you will use it as placement references...

Or just right click on the spring and choose Make flexible.

My company has not upgraded to Wildfire, unfortunately.

Pre-Wildfire family tables are the way to go.
