<DIV>Hi</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Is there a automatic way of having speed and feeds when you select a certain size endmill?</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>How to you create a library of material that you are machining?</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>ex. Alumium or steel.</DIV>

<DIV>Thank You</DIV>

This is done by defining the tool through parameter, and also defining the feed and speed there, so when you call the tool it will read all the information defined in parameters.

hope you got the point

<DIV>Hi</DIV>

<DIV>When I go to setup parameters there are (2) areas that I need help with.</DIV>

<DIV>The first is in the Cut Data Tab is does not allowtoinput for Stock Material</DIV>
<DIV>it just says Unspecified and does not allow input.</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>The second in the on the same page as that is "cutting data" there is a tab </DIV>
<DIV>READDB which is greyed out.</DIV>

Cam,

If you are going to Wildfire 3 soon, the entire Cut Data structure has changed - so it may not be worthwhile to invest any time in creating data now.

If you are staying on Wildfire 1/2, then you need to setup a folder structure in your pro_mf_tprm_dir called 'materials'. Create subfolders in the 'materials' folder for each type of material you use (don't go nuts and make too many to administer). These folders will appear in your Operations Setup under the Stock Material pull-down. As you add tools to the Tools Setup dialog, you can then create the cut data for each tool/material combination and then do a Save of the tool. This will create a .tpm entry for that tool in the selected folder (Stock Material) containing the cut data. Once you assign the Stock Material to an operation, you will be able to do Edit>Copy From Tool> for the cut data you create and read it into the sequence.

This cannot beread automatically in Wildfire 1/2 (you always have to do Edit>Copy from Tool in the Sequence Parameters) but it can beread automatically in Wildfire 3 - except that3 uses XML files and a completely different (flat) structure for storing the cut data.

Cam,

I wish I could help you more, but I have not yet migrated to 3. I do believe that you will find a materials xml file in your pro_mf_tprm_dir that you can edit with Wordpad to get your Stock Material pull-down to work. mfg_wp_material_list.xml? From there on, it should work as I described. I had a few SPRs filed on the XMLs not working correctly, and I've been waiting for M020 to see if the fixes are complete before I transition.

For automatically reading the XMLs, the config.pro option is:

mfg_param_auto_copy_from_tool yes
