Solidworks HELP

Hi folks, I am a student from IIT Bombay .. i have two solids, one a solid bar 30 mm in diameter and another solid that is 0.2mm thick , but of varying cross-sectional area.. i have to remove the thin 0.2mm profiled-solid from the from the bar to manufacture a die .. please suggest me some tricks on solidworks 2009/2010 , the combine option which i used gave me an error - Zero thickness Geometry HELP
