sketch, axis point - not available.

in wf2, the "best practice"is to start sketchedfeatures with a sketched curve, then use them for protrusuion, etc...


I need to use the tool SKETCH, AXIS POINT to create axis which will remain in the part for downstream use.


That option is only available if I start the freature by selecting PROTRUSION first, then selecting a sketch plane.


I'm wondering if there is a way to make it available to plain old sketched curves.

The reason it's greyed out is it need a protrusion to judge the depth (how long) the axis is going to be.


Pretty stupid if you ask me becauseyou can create a datum point then put an axis through it normal to a datum plane and the works fine.
