Anyone know were I can find free down loadable models of generic parts that I don't want to wast my time to make? Not nut and bolts like this wonderful site has but like maybe a suitcase or other miscellaneous user made stuff. well all of it is user made but you know what I'm saying. I am a former Inventor user and there were a few very useful site for that format. I just cant find any for SW.

Thanks

Michael,

Native SolidWorks are available at 3D ContentCentral (http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/default.aspx). Also, several generic parts are included in the SW library.

If the part is specific to a vendor, try ThomasNet (http://www.thomasnet.com/) and you can search for specific suppliers that have CAD models available. The CAD files will typically be a neutral format (STEP, IGES, etc.), but some native SW files are available as well.

Lastly, TurboSquid (http://www.turbosquid.com/) has 3-D models, but very few if any native SolidWorks files. I had to use ScanTo3D to convert the (*.3ds) files for importing into SW.
